Pyrite is a general term for sulfide minerals of iron, generally including pyrite, pyrrhotite, and white iron. Pyrrhotite is the most common, pyrrhotite is rare, and white iron is extremely rare. The beneficiation process of pyrite can be divided into three types: single flotation, single gravity separation, and gravity flotation combined method; Single flotation is mainly used to treat pyrite with finer embedded particle size; Single re selection is suitable for processing coarse-grained embedded pyrite ores; The combined process of re selection and flotation is used to treat pyrite with uneven particle size distribution.
Re selection process
After crushing and grinding the coarse-grained pyrite, the gangue minerals are directly removed through re selection to obtain concentrate products.
When choosing the pyrite beneficiation process, due to the limited recovery value of pyrite, special attention should be paid to the economic rationality of the pyrite beneficiation process. For sulfur iron ores with simple ore properties and coarse embedded particle size, a single gravity separation process can be considered. Common re selection equipment, such as shaking tables, jigs, spiral chutes, etc., can effectively recover pyrite.
Taking Yunfu pyrite as an example, under the condition of no grinding, the gravity separation process of coarse particle jigging fine particle spiral chute is adopted to recover the pyrite in the mine. Through jigging and spiral chute, a high-grade sulfur concentrate can be obtained in one rough separation.
The advantages of a single re selection process are simple process, easy equipment maintenance, low energy consumption, and low beneficiation cost, but the disadvantage is the low recovery rate of pyrite.
