The selective flocculation method for purifying graphite ore requires the addition of a polymer flocculant to a suspension containing two or more components, so that the flocculant can selectively adsorb a certain component in the suspension and generate flocculation precipitation through the action of bridge chains, thereby achieving the goal of component separation.
Process flow
1.Raw ore crushing:Crushing graphite raw ore into smaller particles for subsequent flocculation and purification processes.
2.Grinding:Grinding the crushed raw ore to achieve appropriate fineness, which is beneficial for the contact between the flocculant and the mineral surface.
3.Mixing:Mix the ground slurry with an appropriate amount of water and add a mixing agent to adjust the properties of the slurry, such as pH value and ion strength.
4.Flocculation:Inject the slurry after mixing into the flocculation machine. In the flocculation machine, high molecular weight flocculants are added to selectively adsorb graphite components in the suspension and generate flocculation precipitation through the action of bridging chains.
5.Flocculation and sedimentation:After the flocculant interacts with graphite components, the resulting flocculation and sedimentation are carried out through a flocculation and sedimentation tank, and the supernatant contains non graphite components.
6.Solid liquid separation:Through solid-liquid separation methods such as filtration and centrifugation, the flocculation precipitate is separated from the supernatant to obtain a solid product containing graphite and a non graphite supernatant.
7.Washing and drying:Wash the flocculation precipitate to remove residual flocculants and other impurities, and then dry to obtain high-purity graphite products.
Technological advantages
1.Simple operation:The operation process of selective flocculation method is relatively simple, easy to manage and control.
2. Low cost:Compared with traditional flotation methods, selective flocculation has lower equipment requirements and operating costs, which is beneficial for reducing production costs.
3.Environmental Protection:The flocculants used in the selective flocculation method are relatively environmentally friendly and have a relatively small impact on the environment, which is conducive to achieving green production.
The selective flocculation method also has some disadvantages and needs to be noted
1.Low carbon recovery rate:The carbon recovery rate of selective flocculation method is usually low, only about 40%, which is an important indicator that needs improvement and optimization.
2.Flocculant selectivity:The selectivity of flocculants is crucial to the purification effect and needs to be optimized based on specific ore properties and target components.
3.Subsequent processing:The subsequent processing steps after solid-liquid separation, such as washing and drying, have a significant impact on the purity and quality of the final graphite product.
Selective flocculation method for purifying graphite ore is a simple, low-cost, and environmentally friendly purification method, but the carbon recovery rate needs to be improved. In practical applications, it is necessary to optimize the selectivity of flocculants and subsequent treatment processes based on specific ore properties and target components, in order to achieve better purification results.
